Fungiculture or Termite Husbandry? The Ruminant Hypothesis

Termites may be domesticates of Termitomyces fungi, not farmers. The "ruminant hypothesis" suggests termites use fungal enzymes to pre-treat plant matter, benefiting fungi first, then themselves.
