Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) patients show altered glucose and lipid metabolism, and oxidative stress markers compared to controls. Obesity alone does not explain all observed biochemical changes in NASH.

- NASH patients exhibited elevated fasting glucose, liver enzymes, triglycerides, and superoxide dismutase.
- NASH individuals also showed lower glutathione peroxidase levels compared to controls.

- Obesity alone is insufficient to induce all studied biomarker alterations in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
- While most oxidative stress markers were similar, NASH subjects may experience slightly greater oxidative stress impact.
