Summary

Postpartum pre-eclampsia can cause subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral vasospasm, even without other abnormalities. This case highlights a rare but serious complication of pregnancy-induced hypertension.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To describe a rare case of postpartum subarachnoid hemorrhage with diffuse cerebral vasospasm in a patient with pre-eclampsia.
  • To highlight the potential for severe neurological complications in pre-eclampsia, even without typical associated abnormalities.

  • Case report of a 33-year-old woman.
  • Clinical presentation including ankle edema, headache, proteinuria, and elevated blood pressure.
