Background:

  • The oncogenic role of T-cell leukemia 1 (TCL1) is established in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
  • Post-germinal center B-cell malignancies, like multiple myeloma, typically lack TCL1 expression.
  • Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) shares gene expression similarities with CLL, but TCL1 status in WM is unknown.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess TCL1 protein expression in Waldenström macroglobulinemia patients.
  • To investigate the potential prognostic impact of TCL1 in WM.
  • To explore the possible oncogenic role of TCL1 in WM pathogenesis.
