Affinity of a sulphated rabbit submandibular glycoprotein for hydroxyapatite in vitro
Abstract:
The sulphated rabbit salivary glycoprotein had a high affinity for hydroxyapatite in vitro and could be eluted by phosphate buffer, pH 6.8. Such substances may have an enamel-protecting effect by providing an organic matrix for repair and remineralization of the tooth surface.
