Introduction
Exercise stress testing, commonly known as a treadmill test, is a noninvasive procedure used to evaluate cardiovascular function and diagnose heart conditions.
Definition
An exercise stress test measures the heart's response to exertion using a treadmill or stationary bicycle. Chest electrodes record the heart's electrical activity through an ECG, and blood pressure is monitored regularly.

Background:

Limited research exists on unique stressors for hospital charge nurses.
The Israeli Charge Nurse Stress Questionnaire is validated but not cross-culturally tested.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop a cross-cultural measurement tool for charge nurse stress in general hospitals.
To adapt and validate an existing stress questionnaire for international use.

Main Methods:

A descriptive methodological study was conducted in Israel, Ohio, and Thailand.
2616 nurses completed the translated questionnaire (English, Thai).
Content validity, internal consistency, and factor analysis were used to establish reliability and validity.

Main Results:

A 25-item, four-subscale version of the questionnaire was finalized.
The subscales demonstrated very good internal consistency.

Conclusions:

A self-reported, cross-cultural, valid, and reliable tool for assessing charge nurse stressors was successfully developed.
This tool can guide tailored stress reduction interventions for charge nurses.
Further use in diverse international settings is recommended.
