Summary

Clomiphene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator, improved intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and quality of life in men with idiopathic premature ejaculation (PE). This study suggests clomiphene is a potentially useful pharmacological treatment for PE.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of clomiphene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), in treating idiopathic PE.

  • A randomized clinical trial involving 178 married men diagnosed with idiopathic PE.
  • Participants were assigned to either a clomiphene or placebo group for 6 months.
