Background:

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a rare vascular tumor typically affecting adolescent males.
These tumors characteristically originate from the posterior lateral wall of the nasopharynx.
Primary extra-nasopharyngeal angiofibroma represents a very rare variant.

Observation:

This report presents a unique case of angiofibroma occurring in the parapharyngeal space.
The patient was a 53-year-old woman, an atypical demographic for angiofibroma.
Diagnostic imaging included computed tomography (CT) and sonography.

Findings:

CT and sonographic findings are detailed for the parapharyngeal angiofibroma.
The imaging characteristics are crucial for differentiating this rare tumor from other parapharyngeal masses.
The case underscores the importance of considering angiofibroma in atypical locations and patient demographics.

Implications:

This case expands the known anatomical locations for angiofibroma.
It highlights the utility of advanced imaging in diagnosing rare head and neck tumors.
