Growing emphasis on evidence-based practices (EBPs) in child welfare.

Purpose of the Study:

To provide evidence for the factor structure, reliability, and validity of the ICS in child welfare service providers.
To extend the validation of the ICS beyond mental health settings.
To assess the applicability of the ICS in diverse child welfare organizations.

Main Methods:

Survey data collected from 215 child welfare providers across three states, 12 organizations, and 43 teams.
Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) used to evaluate the proposed six-factor model.
Reliability analyses (Cronbach's alpha) conducted for the overall scale and subscales.

Main Results:

Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a good fit to the six-factor model.
Acceptable alpha reliabilities were found for the overall ICS measure and its subscales.
Evidence of factorial structure invariance was observed between child welfare and mental health sectors.

Conclusions:

The ICS is a reliable and valid measure for assessing implementation climate in child welfare organizations.
The findings support the cross-sectoral applicability of the ICS.
The validated ICS can inform efforts to enhance EBP implementation in child welfare services.
