Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate cardiovascular health scores in US stroke survivors.
  • To determine the association between cardiovascular health scores and all-cause mortality post-stroke.

  • Analysis of a nationally representative US sample of 420 stroke survivors from NHANES (1988-1994).
  • Mortality assessed through 2006, with survival analysis using Cox proportional hazards models.
  • Adjustments made for sociodemographic factors and comorbidities.

  • No stroke survivors achieved all 7 ideal cardiovascular health metrics.
