Occupational exposure to volatile anaesthetics: a systematic review

Long-term exposure to volatile anesthetics in healthcare workers shows scarce evidence of harm. Health professionals are safe when environmental levels remain within legal limits, but more research is needed.

- No adverse effects were observed when environmental exposure levels were maintained within established legal thresholds.
- Further research and improved surveillance methods, including biomarkers, are necessary to better understand and monitor occupational exposure effects.
