Cardiac involvement is present in acute thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), affecting 13% of patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) and catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS). Further research is needed to determine the exact incidence and prognostic value of myocardial involvement in TMA.
