Abstract:
A crystal-to-crystal transformation was observed from a green chain compound CuBr2(1,4-dioxane)2(H2O)2 (1) to a brown layered compound (CuBr2)3(1,4-dioxane)2 (2). The hydrogen bond connecting chains in were replaced by a μ-Br bridge in and the antiferromagnetic interaction between the metal atoms in became stronger than in 1.
