Secondary organ changes as preoperative risk factors and changed pharmacokinetics of anaesthetics due to renal insufficiency complicate the course of narcosis for kidney transplantation. Intensive pathophysiological and pharmacological knowledge of this field is absolutely necessary for avoiding negative effects in the patient as well as in the transplant's function.
