Summary

Thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), regulate nervous system development. T3 influences peripheral nervous system development by inducing tyrosine hydroxylase in adrenal chromaffin cells, independent of Nerve Growth Factor.
