  • Existing research often suffers from small sample sizes, limiting definitive conclusions regarding the association between specific HLA-DRB1 alleles and TB risk.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To conduct a meta-analysis to clarify the relationship between HLA-DRB1 alleles and susceptibility to tuberculosis (TB).
  • To consolidate data from multiple studies to provide a more robust assessment of HLA-DRB1's role in TB.

Main Methods:

  • Systematic literature review to identify relevant studies on HLA-DRB1 alleles and TB susceptibility.
  • Meta-analysis of data from fifteen eligible studies, calculating odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for specific HLA-DRB1 alleles.
