Rituximab does not reset defective early B cell tolerance checkpoints.
Rituximab treatment for type 1 diabetes (T1D) did not eliminate autoreactive B cells, which repopulated after therapy. This B cell repletion may explain why autoimmune diseases often relapse after anti-B cell treatment.
