Emotion regulation and functional neurological symptoms: Does emotion processing convert into sensorimotor activity?

Patients with functional neurological symptoms (FNS) show altered brain activity during emotion regulation, with reduced frontocortical and increased sensorimotor involvement. This suggests a conversion of feelings into somatic sensations in FNS.
