Prevention, detection, and diagnosis of head and neck cancers

Head and neck cancers are a complex group of diseases that result in significantly visible alterations of several vital functions. Ironically, 90% of these tumors are preventable; however, implementing the primary and secondary levels of prevention will require a personal commitment from the patient, in addition to commitments from the community and professionals, such as nurses, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
