    • Optical Communications
    • Nonlinear Optics

    Background:

    • Parametric mixers are crucial for wavelength multicasting.
    • Phase-sensitive processes offer unique signal manipulation capabilities.
    • All-optical regeneration requires effective amplitude and phase noise suppression.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the four-mode phase-sensitive (4MPS) process in a parametric mixer based wavelength multicaster.
    • To evaluate the 4MPS multicaster's performance in the saturation gain regime.
    • To demonstrate amplitude and phase noise regeneration for multicasted signals.

    Main Methods:

    • Theoretical simulations of the 4MPS parametric multicaster.
    • Experimental validation of the 4MPS multicaster's capabilities.
    • Analysis of noise reduction in multicasted signal copies.

    Main Results:

    • The 4MPS process significantly enhanced multicasting conversion efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio.
    • The saturated parametric effect effectively clamped amplitude fluctuations.
    • The phase-sensitive process successfully squeezed phase distortions.
    • Regeneration of amplitude and phase noise was demonstrated across 20 multicasting signal copies.

    Conclusions:

    • The 4MPS parametric multicaster is a highly efficient wavelength multicasting device.
    • The 4MPS multicaster exhibits strong potential for all-optical regeneration applications.
    • This technology offers robust noise suppression for multiple signal copies in optical networks.
