Current status of allergen immunotherapy (hyposensitization): memorandum from a WHO/IUIS meeting

This Memorandum reviews the present status of allergen immunotherapy, its scientific basis, and the clinical evidence of its efficacy. It also makes recommendations on both indications and contraindications, the most appropriate allergens and treatment regimens, and on prevention and management of adverse reactions. Finally, it indicates future developments in this form of treatment.
