Correlation between matrix metalloproteinase-9 and endometriosis

Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) is elevated in endometriosis (EMS) patients. Higher MMP-9 levels correlate with disease severity, ectopic tissue, and the proliferative stage, indicating its role in EMS progression.
