Olfaction Contributes to Pelagic Navigation in a Coastal Shark

Sharks use their sense of smell to navigate the open ocean. This study shows that anosmic (smell-impaired) leopard sharks took more winding paths, unlike control sharks, suggesting olfaction is key for pelagic navigation.
