Inconsistent adherence to immunization guidelines poses risks for vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks.
Pediatric practices face challenges in consistently implementing best practices for immunization delivery.

Purpose of the Study:

To identify factors influencing the implementation of immunization delivery best practices.
To understand impediments and facilitators in pediatric practices during a quality improvement initiative.

Main Methods:

Analysis of monthly surveys and debriefing interviews from 16 pediatric practices over one year.
Utilized a virtual learning collaborative with a toolkit, online sessions, feedback, and coaching.
Employed descriptive statistics for quantitative data and framework approach for qualitative data.

Main Results:

Key impediments included electronic record system issues, rigid management, competing priorities, and parental resistance.
Facilitators comprised linkage with immunization registries, positive social interactions, and performance feedback.
Plan-do-study-act cycles were used by participants to implement practice changes.

Conclusions:

Effective immunization delivery necessitates more than just awareness and training; contextual factors must be addressed.
Overcoming implementation barriers and enhancing facilitators are crucial for improving vaccination rates and community protection.
