Summary

Ultrasound measurements of biparietal diameter and abdominal diameter accurately estimate fetal weight in twin pregnancies. This method shows reliable prediction accuracy, with most birth weights deviating less than 15% from estimated fetal weight.

Accurate fetal weight estimation is crucial for managing twin pregnancies.
Ultrasound biometry is a standard method for assessing fetal growth.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the accuracy of ultrasound-derived fetal weight estimation in twin pregnancies.
To assess the prediction error of a specific fetal weight formula.

Main Methods:

Ultrasound measurements of biparietal diameter (BPD) and abdominal diameter (AD) were taken in 154 twin pregnancies.
Fetal weight was estimated using the formula (0.0108 X AD^1.72 X BPD^0.99) within 0-4 days of delivery.
