    Area of Science:

    • Urology
    • Medical Imaging

    Background:

    • Prostatic cysts are uncommon findings in clinical practice.
    • Limited literature exists on the prevalence and presentation of prostatic cysts.

    Observation:

    • Two cases of prostatic cysts were identified in 400 patients undergoing transrectal ultrasonography.
    • Clinical symptoms ranged from asymptomatic to urinary retention, correlating with cyst size and location.

    Findings:

    • Diagnosis was achieved through a combination of rectal examination, panendoscopy, cystourethrography, and transrectal ultrasonography.
    • One patient underwent open prostatectomy, while the other had the cyst punctured.

    Implications:

    • Transrectal ultrasonography is a valuable tool for detecting prostatic cysts.
    • Management strategies for prostatic cysts should be individualized based on clinical presentation and cyst characteristics.
