Summary

Shoulder sonography for rotator cuff tears shows limited reliability. This diagnostic imaging technique has a very limited role in evaluating rotator cuff injuries, according to this clinical study.

  • Retrospective and prospective evaluation of 98 patients with suspected rotator cuff tears.
  • Comparison of shoulder sonography with double-contrast arthrography in 62 patients.

    • Further research may be needed to refine the role of sonography in rotator cuff tear diagnosis.
