[Cutaneous leishmaniasis as a paradigm of parasitic skin infestation]

On the basis of the latest findings, we present the main aspects of cutaneous leishmaniasis with regard to epidemiology, vector, clinical features, histopathology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, immunology, and therapy.
