Conclusions:

  • Colorectal inflammatory polyps have distinct histopathologic features and a strong predilection for Miniature Dachshunds.
  • CK20 expression differentiates hyperplastic goblet cells from dysplastic/neoplastic cells.
  • Elevated COX2 and FGF2 suggest involvement of the arachidonate cascade in inflammatory polyp development.
