Forensic Medical Assessment for Neurologic Erectile Dysfunction: 58 Case Reports

Purpose of the Study:

• To introduce and evaluate the diagnostic approaches for neurologic ED at our institute.
• To analyze the effectiveness of neurologic investigations in a cohort of 58 patients.

• Established diagnostic criteria for neurologic ED, including nervous system conditions, clinical signs, electrophysiological tests, and nocturnal penile tumescence and rigidity (NPTR) assessments.
• Analyzed data from 20 patients with brain/spinal cord injuries and 38 with pelvic fractures/urethral breaks.
• Assessed abnormalities in pudendal cortical somatic evoked potential (PCSEP), sacral reflex latency (SRL), pudendal-to-cortical motor evoked potential (PCMEP), penile sympathetic skin responses (PSSR), and NPTR.

• In brain/spinal cord injury patients, PSSR and NPTR showed the highest abnormality rates (85%).

• The implemented diagnostic approaches and procedures for neurologic ED exhibit excellent specificity and reliability.
