[Repetition and its psychic function]

Thoughts on repetition as a psychic process and not as conduct or behavior. Placing the phenomenon in the framework of the relationship to objects and in its relation to defense mechanisms in general. Which leads to discussing its connections to a death-instinct and masochism, and to situate narcissism as an easy way to find a balance as opposed to an elaborate and thrifty but disordered imbalance, and in its constructive value for one's identity.
