[1940 to 1945: 5 years of practice in Lötschental]

The author who practised over 50 years ago in the Lötschental reviews his memories: the valley was endangered by avalanches cutting off all outside connections several times, the next colleague was not within reach but by a 2 hour walk, circumstances conditioning many isolated medical decisions (and their execution) as well as the work of a dentist or a veterinary doctor. Next to all these encumbrances the author remembers also many pleasant events and great satisfaction given by the special way of life and acting.
