Importance of "benign" renal tumors

Overviewing the literature, the authors describe the whole spectrum of so-called benign renal tumors. They come to the conclusion that most of these tumors cannot be designated as purely benign and that benignity has come to have less absolute significance. Therefore radical surgery is still the therapy of choice for most, even small and asymptomatic renal tumors.
