Abstract:
The role of chemotherapy, and especially the experience of the EORTC Gastrointestinal Group with this treatment, in advanced pancreatic cancer is discussed. Combination chemotherapy is not superior to single agents and to date chemotherapy in this disease must be considered as experimental. There is no standard treatment available and patients should only be treated in clinical trials.
