Is adenosine a modulator of peripheral vasoconstrictor responses?

Adenosine partially modulates the veno-arterial reflex (VAR), a local vasoconstrictor reflex crucial for blood pressure regulation. Blocking adenosine with aminophylline significantly reduced the VAR response in healthy volunteers.
