Summary

Glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) can be classified into pro-neural and mesenchymal phenotypes. These subtypes correlate with specific protein activations and NMR profiles, offering new avenues for glioblastoma diagnosis and treatment strategies.

Background:

  • Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly lethal brain cancer with a poor prognosis.
  • Effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies require biologically and clinically relevant subclassification systems.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To identify and characterize subtypes of glioblastoma stem-like cells (GSCs).
  • To investigate the association of GSC subtypes with molecular markers and clinical outcomes in GBM patients.

  • Gene expression profiling of patient-derived GSCs.
