Long-term mortality after stroke is higher than after myocardial infarction

Long-term survival is worse for patients after ischemic stroke (IS) compared to those after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This poorer prognosis after IS is particularly evident in males, highlighting a critical difference in long-term outcomes.
