Cat scratch disease can cause eye problems, including Leber's stellate neuroretinitis. Early diagnosis via Bartonella henselae serology is crucial for managing ocular bartonellosis.

Background:

Cat scratch disease, caused by Bartonella henselae, presents variably and can affect the eyes.
Ophthalmologic manifestations are uncommon but significant.
This study details seven cases of ocular involvement.

Observation:

Seven patients (median age 52) experienced ocular symptoms.
Six cases showed Leber's stellate neuroretinitis, with variations.
One patient had isolated retinal infiltrates.

Findings:

Bartonella henselae serology confirmed the diagnosis in all patients.
Five patients developed ocular complications, including optic atrophy and RPE changes.
Doxycycline was the primary treatment administered.
