[How aware are our patients? A contribution to health education]

821 new-admitted patients were examined to substantiate the present state of health-oriented modes of behaviour in the field of stomatology. 20% of the patients consulted for prophylactic reasons. 59% of the total of patients presenting with pain had been fully aware of their need for treatment prior to the acute event. Relationships between age and mode of behaviour and the significance of the family dentist are demonstrated.
