Where do we go from here?

Ophthalmology is endeavoring to negotiate the perilous transition foisted upon it by an increasingly centralized government playing a more active role in the provision of health care for its citizenry; while at the same time we struggle with the changing ethical mores of society, and the shifting moral constructs of our colleagues. Transition is the most dangerous part of any voyage, but if we adhere to the consistent, universal values, we will emerge successfully on the other side of the transition.
