Open Versus Robotic Radical Prostatectomy in Obese Men.

Robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) in obese patients significantly reduces blood transfusions and hospital stay compared to open radical prostatectomy (ORP). However, complication rates were similar between the two surgical approaches for this patient group.

- These findings suggest that RARP is a viable and potentially advantageous option for obese patients undergoing radical prostatectomy, particularly concerning transfusion and length of stay outcomes.
