Trefoil factor 3 shows anti-inflammatory effects on activated microglia

The anti-inflammatory protein trefoil factor 3 (TFF3), secreted by astrocytes, reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine release from microglial cells. This suggests TFF3 may help mitigate central nervous system inflammation and prevent neuronal damage.
