Summary

Post-traumatic cervical spondyloptosis, a rare spinal injury, can be safely managed with tailored surgical interventions. This approach leads to stable or improved neurological outcomes in patients with this challenging condition.

Background:

  • Combined anterior and posterior fusion and fixation were employed in four patients, with no neurological deterioration observed.
  • Surgical outcomes were clinically and radiologically favorable, with neurological improvement or stabilization.

Implications:

  • Surgical management of post-traumatic cervical spondyloptosis is feasible and safe.
  • Individualized surgical approaches are crucial for achieving positive clinical and radiological outcomes.
  • Further research into standardized treatment paradigms for this rare injury is warranted.
