Invasive enterococcal infections in Poland: the current epidemiological situation.

This study investigated invasive enterococci in Polish hospitals, finding high rates of multidrug resistance in Enterococcus faecium. Lineage 78 strains of E. faecium are spreading and linked to increased hospital infections.

- Effective treatment options like linezolid and daptomycin remain available, but high-level aminoglycoside resistance is common.
