  • A representative sample of 1085 Korean adults was recruited using multistage quota sampling.
  • Health states were valued using the composite time trade-off (cTTO) and discrete choice experiment (DCE) methods.
  • The EuroQol Valuation Technology (EQ-VT) program facilitated computer-assisted, face-to-face interviews.

Main Results:

  • A final predictive model was selected based on goodness of fit, logical consistency, and parsimony.
  • The selected model demonstrated statistical significance for all coefficients and logical consistency.
  • The model achieved a mean absolute error of 0.027, with errors below 0.1 for all 86 health states.

Conclusions:

  • The developed model accurately predicts utilities for directly valued EQ-5D-5L health states.
  • This model can interpolate quality weights for all EQ-5D-5L health states in Korea.
  • The findings support the use of EQ-5D-5L in health economic evaluations within the Korean context.
