What constitutes Homo sapiens? Morphology versus received wisdom

Defining Homo sapiens has been challenging due to shifting taxonomic practices. Many fossils previously classified as archaic or anatomically modern humans may not belong to Homo sapiens, suggesting a distinct sapiens clade.
