Types of Membrane Protrusions

The protrusion of the cell surface is an initial step for several cellular processes, including cell migration, phagocytosis, and neurite outgrowth. These membrane protrusions are a result of cytoskeletal rearrangement. The most widely observed cell protrusions include lamellipodia, pseudopodia, filopodia, microvilli, invadopodia, and podosomes. Background:

Epithelioid angiomyolipoma is a rare kidney neoplasm.
It is considered a variant of classical angiomyolipoma, a benign tumor.

Observation:

Case reports indicate epithelioid angiomyolipoma possesses malignant potential.
Metastasis, both loco-regional and distant, has been documented.

Findings:

Epithelioid angiomyolipoma may exhibit a more adverse clinical course than classical angiomyolipoma.
