Summary

Asymptomatic Leishmania infantum-infected blood donors in the Balearic Islands pose no transfusion-transmitted leishmaniasis (TTL) risk. A literature review confirms scarce evidence of TTL, suggesting current screening is adequate for blood transfusion safety.
