Abstract:
Dialysis access interventions remain a vital component of long-term care for the dialysis population. Several advances have been published in the past two years, including both advances in the creation of accesses as well as treatment of specific processes leading to dialysis access failures. Advances in tools and other techniques used in dialysis access maintenance have also led to significant improvements in outcomes in this patient population. The purpose of this article is to provide synopses of some of the most important literature published in 2014-2015, and to provide objective data for the reader to make their own decisions regarding interventions performed in this patient population.
