This study presents a new prosthetic technique for immediate implant loading, achieving 100% success in dental implant procedures. The computer-aided, flapless approach enhances predictability for fixed prostheses.

Area of Science:

  • Dental Implantology
  • Prosthodontics
  • Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

Background:

  • Immediate loading of dental implants offers functional and aesthetic benefits.
  • Flapless implant placement and computer-guided surgery aim to improve precision and reduce invasiveness.
  • Predictability in prosthetic rehabilitation following immediate implant placement remains a critical factor.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To describe a novel prosthetic technique designed to enhance the predictability of immediately loaded implants.
  • To integrate computer-aided template-guided flapless implant placement with a specific prosthetic workflow.
  • To facilitate accurate provisional prosthesis repositioning based on digital planning.

Main Methods:

  • A 2-year period involved eight patients with partial edentulism undergoing computer-aided template-guided flapless implant placement.

  • A described prosthetic technique transferred facebow data to the surgical environment for precise temporary prosthesis repositioning.
  • Digital software was used for pre-operative planning of implant and prosthesis placement.
  • Main Results:

    • Seventy-eight dental implants were immediately loaded with fixed prostheses.
    • A 100% survival and success rate was observed after a 1-year mean follow-up.
    • No major complications, dropouts, or signs of peri-implant pathology (inflammation, infection, bone resorption) were noted.

    Conclusions:

    • The described technique, combined with computer-aided implant placement and immediate loading, demonstrates high implant and prosthetic survival and success rates.
    • The technique shows predictability and reliability in the short term, with no reported complications.
    • This approach offers a reliable solution for immediate functional and aesthetic rehabilitation in partially edentulous patients.
